Chief Apostle Daniel (Danny) Thynoise Hines was born on June 10, 1981, to Elder Nelson A. Hines and the late Elder Carolyn Hines. His formation in the faith began early. His mother was a devoted prayer warrior, and his father served as a musician and minister at Calvary Church of God in Christ in Goose Creek, South Carolina. His love for music was nurtured when Bishop Johnnie J. Johnson gifted him with an older piano from the church basement. His parents regularly anointed his hands and prayed over him, and he made it a nightly practice to touch the piano before going to bed. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of five. As he matured, so did his devotion to the Lord and to music. He received the baptism in the Holy Spirit in October 1990 at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Largo, Florida, under the leadership of the late Pastor Rogers Blair.

Apostle D. T. Hines has served in ministry in various capacities for most of his life, including teaching Sunday School and youth classes and serving as a keyboardist. Together with his family, he has also participated in outreach and evangelistic ministry throughout the United States, including Charleston, South Carolina; St. Petersburg, Florida; Cleveland, Ohio; Chicago, Illinois; Gainesville, Florida; and Brunswick, Georgia. Through each season, he has remained steadfast in his commitment to God and to his call to ministry. His personal motto is: “If you don’t know Jesus, get to know Him. If you do know Jesus, get to know Him better!”

Apostle D. T. Hines has embraced the call to continue the work of ministry at City of Refuge Mission Family Worship Center (CORMFWC). He was mentored by his grandfather, the late Bishop Thynoise Hines, as well as by many respected leaders, including his father, Elder Nelson Hines; Bishop Joseph Kalema; the late Apostle Floyd Nelson, Sr.; Apostle Bobbie Jean Adkins; Bishop Adrian Rodgers; Apostle-Bishop Barbara C. Moore; and Dr. Leila Brumfield, among others. He has received a compelling vision for the next level of ministry at CORMFWC and remains deeply committed to the work of the church and to the saints laboring together in that assignment. Walking in the call and mantle of apostleship, the Lord has enabled him to plant and oversee ministries across the Southeast. Apostle Hines also provides leadership oversight for 37 churches in Pakistan (Holy Purpose Gospel Ministries) and 76 churches in Africa (Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya), while continuing to build ministries within the United States.

In addition to serving as Senior Pastor of City of Refuge Mission Family Worship Center, Apostle D. T. Hines is the Chief Apostle and Founder of City of Refuge Ministries Worldwide, Incorporated—a fellowship of churches committed to supporting the strategic plan of every ministry in the Kingdom. On Saturday, July 16, 2016, he was consecrated and affirmed into the office of Chief Apostle by the late Apostle Floyd E. Nelson, Sr. (International Bible Way Church of Jesus Christ) and Bishop Adrian C. Rodgers (Fullness of Joy—Jonesboro, AR, and New Dimensions International Ministries—Memphis, TN). Apostle Hines is passionate about the development of godly leadership. In 2016, he established Leaders Impartation, a monthly “leaders-only” gathering designed to strengthen and renew Kingdom leaders serving on the front lines of ministry.

Professionally, Apostle Hines has earned recognition and awards in each career role he has held. From positions with Bank of America and Wachovia National Associations to service with the American Red Cross Blood Services, he attributes these accomplishments to the favor of God upon his life. While working with the Glynn County Board of Education in Brunswick, Georgia, Apostle Hines created and piloted a program designed to identify and address potential at-risk behaviors among middle school students. Known as S.O.A.R. (Students on Another Route), this intervention initiative helped redirect the trajectories of 108 students at Needwood Middle School by establishing attainable, sustainable, and measurable goals in academics and emotional and social development, and by implementing strategies for personal accountability in every area of life.

In response to his evangelistic call, Chief Apostle Hines travels to preach, teach, and proclaim the Word of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. In obedience to the Lord’s summons—“Here am I; send me”—he remains ready to deliver the Word to God’s people and to advance the Kingdom of God.

On April 25, 2020, Apostle Hines married Sierra Alford. Together, they serve faithfully and stand united in leading God’s people in the way they should go. On April 1, 2022, their family was blessed with the birth of their daughter, Amelia Grace Hines. He continues to serve steadfastly as an apostle, prophet, and pastor in the Lord’s church, ministering healing and deliverance to those in need.
